Growth engineering, storytelling, and building an audience that actually sticks.
I'm a software engineer who also builds in public. On @marisummerss, I mix coding, creative tech, and honest life-in-progress storytelling — the same instincts I use in product and growth engineering: ship fast, learn from the data, and keep iterating.
Falling in love with coding in fifth grade never really left. It just found a new surface area. Short-form video, carousels, and experiments in 3D and creative tools became another way to teach, recruit attention, and turn technical curiosity into something people actually watch.
Recent Instagram insights put me at about 760K views, 423K accounts reached, and net follower growth in the same window. Across my content, I've crossed 781K+ views, with most of that reach coming from people who don't follow me yet — about 93% non-followers. That distribution matters: it means the work travels beyond the people who already know me.
Growth engineering, for me, is not just funnels and dashboards. It's understanding why someone stops scrolling, what makes a first impression convert into a follow, and how to keep the quality bar high while still testing hooks, formats, and distribution.
I treat social the way I treat product loops: define the outcome, watch retention and reach, double down on what compounds, and kill what doesn't. The creator side keeps me close to the audience. The engineering side keeps me honest about what the metrics actually say.
If you're building something in education, developer tools, creative tech, or consumer product and want someone who can speak both growth and implementation — that's the lane I'm in.
